Walked the Big Yard or Still Walking It

Department of Corrections Alumni

Political leaders, political leader's families, celebrities, clergy, teachers, and many others have found themselves entangled in legal issues, resulting in prison time or serving sentences for various offenses.

High-profile figures such as Martha Stewart and Lindsay Lohan have faced incarceration for crimes ranging from insider trading to substance abuse. The world was shocked when rapper Lil' Wayne served a year in prison for a firearm charge, and more recently, R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years for racketeering and sex trafficking. And how can we possibly forget those who clearly committed such serious crimes that if they weren't protected by people of power, they would be DOC Alumni too. But hey, guilt, evidence, and justice are measured in currency, not the truth or economic influences.

These incidents serve as reminders that fame and fortune, positions of trust, do not exempt individuals from facing the consequences of their actions. Or lack thereof, example, the ever-elusive Epstein, Weinberg, Clinton, Biden, Simpson, Trump, Cameltoe Harris, Hanks and the list is so long that it isn't even possible to write out in one lifetime.

And then there are those who are alumni that are so far-fetched that I had to add his image to this because the government spent millions of dollars on zero evidence and then held him responsible for the entrapment they had to use to put him on trial and sentence him for doing absolutely nothing except being the face of an era where marijuana was considered a felony crime and made no apologies to him or his family when they legalized it not too long afterwards so they could capitalize on it. I even wrote an original song about it called, "Tommy the Terrorist".

Tommy Chong attacked the system with a clean bong.
